The board of ESN VU Amsterdam 2020-2021 is composed of seven enthusiastic and internationally-minded students. They run ESN VU Amsterdam on a daily basis as volunteers and are responsible for the association with more than 1000 members from all over the world!
Hello everyone, welcome to Amsterdam! My name is Noah, and I am the President of ESN VU Amsterdam. I’m 22 years old and grew up in the US before moving to Germany. I have been living in Amsterdam for the past 3 years, and it has been the best time of my life, so much so that I will be staying here even after I finish my Bachelor’s degree in PPE. There is so much to discover here, so many people to meet, and so many new things to experience. If you ever have questions about student life in Amsterdam, ESN, where to go dancing, or where to find the most amazing food and nature parks, don’t hesitate to ask! Hope to meet you soon!

Hello friends! Welcome to the Netherlands! My name is Marija, and I am the Secretary of ESN VU Amsterdam. I am 21 years old, and I am a third-year student of Literature & Society. I was born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia, but I have also lived in Germany for one year before moving to the Netherlands. I have met so many incredible people from all over the world since coming here, so I decided to join ESN so I can help others have the same amazing experiences I have had. My main role in the board is to organize meetings and answer emails and messages from students, so if you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to ask me! I know that your time in Amsterdam will be just as exciting and memorable as mine has been so far, and I hope that ESN can be a part of that!

Charlotte, Cultural Events Manager
Hi and welcome to the newly migrated as well as the through & through Amsterdamers! I’m Charly, this year’s Cultural Events Manager of ESN VU Amsterdam. For about three years now, I’ve been living and studying psychology here in Amsterdam. I was born and raised in Germany and I also lived in Australia for a short while. Thanks to Covid, my free-time activities are limited to home workouts and ordering take-out, so any insider tips are welcome! I hope to be able to share some cultural insights into both the city as well as the Netherlands through the events I organise together with my committee. I really recommend you learn a few Dutch phrases, as the Dutchies really appreciate it. Don’t hesitate to ask me any questions about tulips, Gouda, or the less cliché parts of the Dutch culture and I’ll try my best to give you a good answer. Hope to meet you soon!

Chrisa, Social Events Manager
Hello everyone! My name is Chrisa, and I am this year’s Social Events Manager of ESN VU Amsterdam! As the name implies, I am responsible for all the social-related activities within our section, which are mainly limited to online hangouts for now, due to the COVID-19 regulations. However, I am being optimistic and hoping for better event opportunities soon! As for my background, I am 20 years old and originally from Greece! I moved to Amsterdam two years ago to start my Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, and I have been living here ever since. Throughout those two years, I have gone through both great and not so great experiences. As I know the struggles of living abroad first-hand, I am always willing to help fellow students get the best out of the university experience – even during the pandemic. With that said, don’t hesitate to hit me up for help!
I am looking forward to meeting you!
